I have a positive and patient way of getting through to students. Science was my favorite subject matter in college and I like to break down difficult information into terms that are easier to understand and follow. For example, I like to break down scientific terms by their roots. In doing so, my students not only remember what the terms mean for that class but can also apply that knowledge in future class work. I also believe in using reinforcement techniques such as repetition, writing, and regular revision/quizzing of the subject matter so that this not only keeps the information fresh but also make it easier to build on that information further.

As a graduate of Arkansas State University with a degree in history, I achieved an excellent rapport with the faculty and the administration in the pursuit of my degree. I have been previously awarded an ROTC scholarship for leadership and academic potential, as well as a scholarship from the Dean's discretionary budget to supplement my academic progress. I have tutored students in History, philosophy, geography, and essay composition. I am currently on track to earn a certified teaching credential and I am looking forward to positive experiences.

I attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. In my course of pursuing my Engineering degree, I minored in math where I became versed in Engineering math such as Calculus I-III, Analytic Geometry, Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra I & II, probability and statistics to name a few. I have always had a knack for teaching as a youth and I got involved with the art of tutoring from my youthful days.
