Over the years we collected, observed ,researched , and collected data for our scientific research papers that a lot of courses demanded. Being out in the field was the best part. I typically employ the Socratic method: asking questions to discover what the student knows (or thinks he knows) and guiding his thinking toward discovering the knowledge himself. Both my three children and my Scouts have declared that they enjoy my teaching because it engages their interest and because it is frequently humorous (when the subject and the occasions permits).
