Biology is one of my top subjects! Received an A in Biology at Richland Community College in 2010, and received the distinguished award "Most Outstanding Biology Student of the Year" for 2010/2011 Academic School Year within the college. I also received a B in Microbiology the same year. I plan to continue my education in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and eventually Neurobiology.

I am a visceral teacher. I like to use illustrations whenever possible, videos, photographs, drawings... I like making connections to things that may seem unrelated - I think this strengthens neuro-pathways and thought processes. I also think that laughter stimulates learning, so I like students to feel at ease - I will make myself look dumb if it will make someone laugh and relax.
I am a natural teacher - it's what I do when I'm not getting paid. I just like to share knowledge of what, why, when, where, and how. I like the process of learning, and it is a privilege to get to witness, or even positively influence, that process in someone else. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all people fall short of their maximum potential. Finding the right motivation for people is a gift that I have. This is, however, no guarantee of success when dealing with the individual mind, but it does improve the circumstances. I can motivate, but I cannot do the work for a student, thus personal responsibility is a must for success. I write in a very concise and efficient manner. As a student at Eastern Illinois University (EIU) I majored in Accounting and minored in Chemistry and Pre-medicine. This path provided me with a well rounded education, which required me to take many courses in Chemistry, Physics, Math, Biological Sciences, Accounting, Tax, etc. As a student at EIU I was a Lord scholar graduating Summa Cum Laude with an accumulated GPA of 3.94/4.00. I believe in curtailing the teaching experience specific to the student and understanding how best the student learns, either through visual or auditory stimuli. One of the best attributes a student can learn is critical thinking and to think beyond what is written on the paper. I approach critical thinking by researching numerous resources from which to learn. I have recently completed student teaching and have earned my teaching certificate as an art specialist. I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students at different levels with varying abilities. I have had internships at the high school and elementary levels, with time spent both in the art classroom as well as the special education classroom.
