I have worked for the past 13 years in accounting and management positions. I started in the Master of Education in the Teaching Arts at Mississippi College this past January and recieved by Class A Teacher's License in June of this year. I am certified to teach grades 4-8 in all four of the major subjects: math, science, social studies and language. I am also certified to teach grades 7-12 in the social studies area: US History, government, geography, and world history. I am also highly qualified to teach accounting and business because of the number of accounting and business classes that I have taken.

During high school and junior college I worked as an office assistant for a trucking company. Upon completion of my two year degree I worked briefly for an accountant before furthering my education at Mississippi College. While at Mississippi College, I had an internship at another trucking company that lasted almost two years. I completed my MBA online and maintained a 3.9 GPA while working at a temporary position. I currently work in retail sales at the Outlets of Vicksburg.

I earned both my Bachelor's of Arts in English and my Master's of Science in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi. While at USM, I served as the Assistant to the Graduate Reader as a graduate student, where my job was to proof graduate and Ph.D. students' theses and dissertations. This job, in particular, helped me become extremely familiar with APA and MLA formatting, as well as everyday grammar and word usage. I also took a number of education classes while persuing my Bachelor's degree. I realize that, in order for a student to want to learn, the subject must be presented to them in an interesting way. I love teaching as a facilitator. I want my students to be engaged and explore in the classroom. I actively seek ways to meet the needs of all students; I feel that each has something to offer. I encourage my students to take ownership in their learning and appreciate how important it is. As a college graduate, I have taken several courses to enhance my knowledge base in education. I have earned a BS in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading and Special Education and a MS in Secondary Education with an endorsement in Guidance Education. My teaching style is to merge technology, current events, and thought provoking question into one. I related the given subject to the student as best as I can. This makes the subject personal and it makes the information easy to retain. During my education at Alcorn, I have helped a myriad of my colleagues with papers, historical facts, and a general/detail understanding of a given historical topic.
