Creating a solid foundation for education

As a teacher and a tutor, I have always felt that each student learns differently and that they each need to be taught based upon the most efficient method that works for each individual student. Most of my day while teaching involved working with small groups of students based upon their areas of weakness. I used a lot of hands on instruction and activities which allowed students to gain a solid foundation before moving on to more complex skills. Better academics combined with more fun is the goal.

I consider it my duty to do what it takes to make the tutoring FUN for the person being tutored.
I have helped friends (and their children) to prepare for exams since when in high school I won various awards for my performance on exams. I won the top score for the Regents exam for Duval County in 1971 and for this I was recognized by the downtown Rotary Club. Also I won the top statewide scholarship award for the Chamber of Commerce and for the N.H.S. due to performance on exams. Also I won the Merit Scholarship award. I have only recently started to do tutoring for pay. Elementary Vocabulary is one of my top subjects! I have collected a large library of teaching materials over my years of teaching English and various other subjects.
