My comments on tutoring Elementary Grammar : I have been a teacher for 27 years and have a masters degree in reading. I have taught grades 2-5. I taught 3rd grade for 15 years.

My style is varied depending on the needs of the student, however, I mostly use tactile/kinesthetic styles with the use of visuals and manipulatives.
I taught third grade for 15 years in Galena Park ISD. I became a content mastery teacher for 2 years. I then taught art for 2 years. I received my masters in reading and became a reading specialst. From January 2006 through August 2008, I worked part-time as a freshman composition instructor, writing lab tutor, and teaching assistant for the English department at UNT. As an instructor, I taught two classes per long semester and one, intensive summer session. During the fall semesters, I taught Composition I, which introduced students to a variety of writing concepts, such as the personal essay and the visual text. The students wrote five papers, three to five pages in length, with each paper designed around one of the concepts. I am a certified Special Education teacher. I work in the NEISD district. I have been a redirection and behavior teacher, a self contained teacher, a resource teacher, and I have co-taught a class. I have taught resource classes in reading(phonics, fluency, comprehension), math (STAAR prep). I had a tutoring client for 3 years working on math every week. I am motivated and love a challenge.
