Throughout my educational experience I have been committed to academic excellence. I recently graduated summa cum laude with a BA in English. My studies gave me a versatile set of writing, research, and critical-thinking skills applicable to many areas of study within the Humanities. In the past I have had 3 years of Russian, 1 in Hebrew, as well as good deal of study in beginning level Latin. In addition to my studies in English, I also took college level Calculus, as well as courses in physics, and history electives. Through my education at UCLA, I developed a solid foundation in math and science, while completing my BS in Bioengineering. I first discovered my love for teaching in high school. I excelled in many areas and helped my fellow students learn. As I furthered my education, my passion for teaching grew and my style changed. I have molded my favorite, and most effective, professor's techniques into my own hybrid. I use humor and compassion to develop the student's understanding. I try to teach to the student and not at them. I teach study habits that will help them learn more effectively on their own.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemisty with a minor in statistics. As an undergraduate, I tutored middle-schoolers in science and math as a volunteer at a local school. I was recently a substitute teacher, teaching all ages and in areas such as the biological sciences, algebra, calculus and psychology. I currently tutor a college student in mathemtics.
