All children and adolescents can successfully acquire and process new information. Many students encounter difficulty learning in a traditional school setting because the large class sizes do not afford the teacher the time to learn about each individual and attend to his or her specific needs. As a tutor, I find my students' strongest learning modalities. In doing so, my students learn to trust and respect me as a person and see me as a support. I believe in using the constructivist approach to teaching, which allows students to learn through discovery. All students want to learn and be successful. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in both Elementary and Special Education 1-6 with a focus in Mathematics. I also have 5 years of teaching experience, 1 of which was in Elementary Special Education in Heathsville, Virginia. The other 4 years of experience have been in the Marcus Whitman District.
