I have been a substitute teacher in all grade levels in the Alexandria (VA) City Public Schools District for several years, and within that I have a great deal of experience with ELL and Special Ed students. A Little Bit About Me...

In high school and college, part of the community service that I performed was tutoring elementary school kids in math. My BS in finance has given me ample experience and knowledge in the field as well as improved my math and reasoning skills.
I know everyone learns in different ways, so I have found the best way to make someone understand is to put it in terms of something they understand, whether it be sports, chess, movies, anything. This allows them to relate to the material much faster and retain it much longer. Once they grasp the general concept, introducing details and new ideas becomes much easier.

I gained my tutoring experience working the Wilmer Writing Center at Lynchburg College while I was a student there. I worked with undergraduate and graduate students, as well as professors, to edit their papers; these papers covered all subject areas from English to Science to Teaching.
