I enjoy watching learners succeed. I have the ability to diagnose learning weaknesses in a student, effectively plan a course to re mediate the student's learning weakness, implement a set of steps to assist the student to take the weakness and turn it to a strength building upon already mastered skills, and evaluate the success of the student's efforts and move on or re-teach based upon the student's needs. I have the ability to motivate learners so that they have fun accomplishing the goals set before them. But I am at the same time very task orientated and use a lot of behavior modification techniques in my approach. My original interest was teaching instrumental music. Although I changed majors and ultimately graduated with a BS in Computer Science, I have continued my interest in teaching, first by volunteer tutoring during college and later by helping adults learn to speak English. I eventually took an intensive summer course in teaching English to speakers of other languages, following which I spent over three years teaching conversational English in Central Asia. Upon returning to the States I worked for a few years for a literacy council, helping administratively and also teaching workplace English. I continue to play in orchestras and teach string instruments privately. I am in the process of completing a Master's degree in Teaching. I love working with children and with adults. I especially enjoy watching a child's eyes light up when something makes sense. I value the constructivist approach

I like teaching and also tutoring. I am considerate and patient. I believe that each student has the potential to be an academic success. In college, I was a Math Tutor in all the requisite courses and calculus. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Math and BS in Mechanical Engineering, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many various areas of study. I have taught adult students in mathematics, mechanical assembly, and job skills.
