My goal as a teacher is to help students learn and understand Math. I believe as a teacher, you want to pass onto your students to excel in whatever they want to achieve in life. I find students today are in a very competitive and stressful environment in the classroom. The pressure to succeed or be above average is great and can cause the enjoyment in learning to be lost. Mathematics is challenging, and some students pick up the concepts very easily, while others do not. It is important not to lose the students who are having difficulty. My teaching style depends on the student. Some students need more visual and audio while others depend on memorization. I like to modify my style that suits their needs as a learner. I beleive in comprehension skills, memorization and learning key concepts to help them link connections.
I am currently a substitute teacher and work everyday in one of four school districts in the Rochester area. I enjoy helping and tutoring kids.
