A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated Ph.D. in Chemistry from one of the best chemistry programs in the country this past May. I had been a graduate student at Arizona State University for the past 5 years and I have essentially put myself through 9 years of college through dedication, hard work, and an undergraduate scholarship. I graduated 20th out of 456 students at Hamilton Southeastern High School and was awarded a full tuition alumni scholarship at Indiana State University. My teaching style is my tutoring style as I do mostly tutoring. I work with students to determine the missing math procedures or concepts. When a student misses a question, I do not simply show them the solution or correct answer. I solve the problem with the student (without looking at the answer) by discussing the approach (procedure) together. In this way, we share the approach to the solution and weak spots are revealed.
I have had a very successful career as an Engineer/Plant Manager. I changed careers and I am now Teaching/Tutoring. I teach/tutor High School math at an inter-city school (IPS). I also work for a Huntington Learning Center working with high-achieving high school students trying to improve their SAT and ACT math scores.
