My teaching style consists of finding that unique style that will suit each individual student. Growing up, I noticed that it was very hard for certain students to grasp certain concepts because they were not engaged in the teaching method. It is no secret that everyone learns a certain way, and no two ways are ever the same. I believe that my patience, my calm demeanor, and habit of wanting to make learning something fun rather than a job has certainly helped me in my education. In addition i tutored a student in High School in several subjects. Most of my experience tutoring has been in math, physics and engineering, but I am also fluent in Spanish. In problem based courses this is usually done through asking the student what they think the next step should be and guiding them through the process of problem solving. I can teach any age since I have experience with almost with age group of 5 yr to 30 yr. and I love my job Since I was in high school I have been teaching my sisters to get their way around with Science/Math/English. I have two bachelor degrees, one in computer science, the other in mathematics with a type 09 cert (6-12). I belong to Mensa and the NCTM, and have excellent English and decent Spanish speaking and writing skills. I have taught and tutored in mathematics and computer science for quite awhile, and I earned a 95% on my PSAT and a 32 on my ACT. Generally, I'm a constructivist, and I believe the best method of tutoring is providing a completely individuated scaffold for any student. While I was raised in old-school education, I believe that some of the newer techniques of education through hands-on, the use of digital technology, and through writing across the curriculum are effective for many students.

As an Electrical Engineer, I am very capable in all areas of Math and Science. I have tutored family memebers for many years in these subjects and have acted as an independent contractor for high schools in the area as well. I feel my approach to the subjects and personal disposition, make the subject matter easier to grasp. My college level courses gave me a deeper understanding of all math related topics, which makes it easier to convey these topics in understandable terms. I love to see people grasping the simplest approach. I begin with an overview of what, exactly, is the goal and why we are doing it. I feel step by step methods, with easy to remember techniques, are best to achieving the final result. "Hands on" is definitely the approach, once the goal and methods have been established. Reiteration and practice help make problem solving achievable, and reasonably fun.
