However, if you looked over my life, you would see that I have been teaching, tutoring and mentoring my entire life. I have volunteered as a mentor, a tutor, and a teacher in community organizations, in local schools, and at my local church; and I home schooled my own children. As a College graduate, I was dedicated to the advancement of myself and others. I have earned a degree in Mass Communications, yet have had the opportunity to Substitute Teach, be a Para-Professional, and also teach at-risk student in a one-on-one setting as a Homebound Instructor for 2 years. These experiences have garnered a sense of urgency within me to reach as many students who are at risk; students who often lack the background to challenge them to complete their education. I have taught these students in various subjects including, History, Math, Science, and English.
I love reaching students who are often overlooked due to their lack of mobility and interest to learn in a classroom setting.
