I am a very patient person and my teaching style reflects that. I will always make sure your child understands the concepts that the teacher is trying to teach. Even when he or she shows that the material is understood I will always go over it a few more times to make sure it really sticks. Everyone has a learning style that works best for them and I will try to figure out the method that will allow your child to improve the most. As I discovered while in college, I have been instructing people all of my life. While working in the food-service industry for the past twenty-plus years, I have held supervisory positions and provided training to literally hundreds of employees. This natural ability to work with others became apparent when I began tutoring. It is important for all children to have an equal opportunity to learn. This means that I must teach in various styles or to multiple intelligences so that each student is able to understand materials taught. In the appropriate environment and with appropriate materials, it is possible that each child can be a success, given that the teacher understands that not all students learn in the same manner. With degrees from one of the nations top universities, I have many experiences working with students. I have worked with students through Jumpstart (an AmeriCorps program), as a youth camp specialist, and as a after school program coordinator at an elementary school in Naples. I am currently working on a graduate degree in School Counseling. I believe that helping youth succeed to be their best is very important and must be a priority.

I believe that one particular style is not necessarily appropriate for all areas of studies or for students with varying assets and deficits. However, I attempt to have the student as involved and interactive with the learning rocess as can be achieved, and being legally trained, often employ the "Socratic Method"--an exchange of dialogue, which maximizes the student's participation and involvement, and even, on occasion, development of the learning process.
