My teaching style is definitely one of facilitator. I present the material in a fashion, which allow students to experiment and develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills. From these skills the students will learn how to approach and solve the problems they are given. Students need to experience success and will do so. Failure is not an option. I have always been interested and active in the education field. I enjoy working individually with students, more so than in a classroom setting. I received a Master's degree in Creative Writing and a Bachelor's in English for Secondary Education, with minors in French and Creative Writing. I have been teaching Composition at a Community College and have tutored students for many years, whether in English, basic French or even math (up to and including Algebra).

During my life I have worked in several types of businesses in which I would usually advance to becoming the lead person, teacher to the ones working below me. Micro welding had to teach others how to set machines and run them. I built parts which went to the moon, had to teach the others how they were made. Owned an upholstery business and taught people how to sew, cut, and hang the materials on the furniture. I helped my sons and later my granddaughters with home work. All of this should add up to a year of tutoring students. Teaching the students they need to ask questions that concern them the most and then always manage to work through them.

I was a tutor while in college. I tutored students in History, Accounting, and Greek. I was a double major:Accounting and Christian Ministry. I was a substitute teacher in Indiana from 1990-1994. I taught everything from Kindergarden to High School. I was a couple of teacher's personal sub. I also was involved with the program that dealt with students with developmental disabilites. Currently, I am homeschooling my daughter. She is very gifted, so we are letting her interests lead us. She is the hardest one I have ever taught, but that is because I am so close to her.
My teaching style is based on the student. One teaching style does not fit everyone. I have to see how the student learns and then adapt my teaching style to meet his or her needs. I love helping people, and especially when they get it. That is so rewarding.
