Upon receiving my master's degree from Arkansas State University, I received a position as an adjunct instructor in the political science department for Paragould. I have a positive and patient way of getting through to students. Science was my favorite subject matter in college and I like to break down difficult information into terms that are easier to understand and follow. For example, I like to break down scientific terms by their roots. In doing so, my students not only remember what the terms mean for that class but can also apply that knowledge in future class work. I also believe in using reinforcement techniques such as repetition, writing, and regular revision/quizzing of the subject matter so that this not only keeps the information fresh but also make it easier to build on that information further.

As a graduate of Arkansas State University with a degree in history, I achieved an excellent rapport with the faculty and the administration in the pursuit of my degree. I have been previously awarded an ROTC scholarship for leadership and academic potential, as well as a scholarship from the Dean's discretionary budget to supplement my academic progress. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style can best be described as varied! I believe that children learn in numerous ways, so as an educator it is my responsibility to provide multiple experiences - visual, oral, tactile, etc. A person walking by my classroom would see children smiling, working in groups, accomplishing projects, and would hear noise.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University I taught 5th grade for 2 years while working on my Master's at TSU. I then moved to the Knoxville area and taught K until my son was born in 2000. We then moved to Wisconsin where I taught in various after school programs until my 2 children were old enough for preschool. I then went back part time and taught 4 K until my 3rd child was born in 2005. Throughout this entire time I tutored various children ages 8 - 15 years if age.
