A Little Bit About Me...
As a music therapist, I learned to apply my creativity to design instruction that allows the learner to be actively and successfully engaged in learning.
As a special educator, I learned to quickly problem-solve if a support strategy is not successful. I've worked with students with all levels of learning challenges (those with and without formal disability labels) and can help each learner become confident in their abilities.I understand how teachers are trained, keep current with research, and know how schools function structurally, which helps me think about where things may break down for the individual learner. FInally, learning should be enjoyable at least part of the time-another critical lesson from music therapy!
