I have spent the better part of the past 12 years teaching grammar, creative writing, literature, and basic English structure. I have my BFA in Creative Writing and my BA in English from Arkansas Tech University, and I have my MA in English from Highlands University. As a graduate of a small junior college I believe one on one teaching gives students the advantage over a large group because the child can receive the necessary attention for learning skills in reading, writing and math. Many children learn differently some are visual learners,some are audio etc. I have been instructed through various techniques in reading with chilldren that will help them achieve a higher reading level of success. In high school I went to the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) and tutored high school students in the community in math and reading, as well as ESL. Also, part of the GSSM curriculum required students to do summer research at a 4-year institution in South Carolina. I did behavioral neuroscience research at USC. My interests then lead me to attend USC for college, and I went there for two years with a double major: English and Psychology.
