My comments on tutoring GED : I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced and Intermediate math and language arts in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

I have taught 5th Grade Math and Science, 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade as an Interventionist, Kindergarten, and most recently Advanced Math and Language Arts / ESOL/CIVICS in and Adult GED/HiSet program. I have the ability to motivate and light the fire of interest in my students by incorporating in my teaching full emersion projects. Using an approach that fully immerses my students in the subject they are learning gives them the opportunity to learn firsthand instead of being merely a receiver of information. I call this approach “Walk a mile”. I have used this approach in many of my student teaching as well as substituting experiences. I think kids are great. The time I spend coaching a group of teenagers energizes me. I find the key to each child’s personality and try to connect with them individually. I like to joke and have fun with them. My style is casual on the surface but makes for an enjoyable experience. During the past two years, I have taught Medical Terminology at the college level. Previously, I wrote and presented workshops for early childhood education teachers. Not only did this allow me to teach, it required me to continue my education in all academic areas. With a bachelor degree in Human Services Management and an associate degree in Medical Technology, I have gained much experience in Math, Science, Management and Public Speaking.
My goal is to help each child reach his or her potential. The best way to do this, is to first identify the child's learning style. When this is defined, projects should be tailored to fit that style. I prefer to use a hands-on approach to any subject and present each idea being studied in numerous ways.
