My comments on tutoring Homework Help : I have constantly balanced being an excellent student with being an athlete. In my senior year of high school I took 6 AP classes while playing varsity volleyball and playing for a volleyball club requiring 20 hrs/week. In college I was a psychology major, taking pre-med courses, and playing/working for the women's D1 volleyball team 30 hrs/week. I also successfully spent the last summer studying for and taking the MCAT. These experiences have necessitated that I develop excellent study skills in order to accomplish all of my academic goals.

I have succeeded as a Pre-Med student and psychology major while playing for the University of Colorado D1 women’s volleyball team and thus developed excellent study skills. I have taken and done well on the MCAT and I am applying to medical school in the summer of 2013. I also taught at a Federal correctional Institution in Englewood, Colorado in their Education Department in 1990 and 1991. i tutored inmates for their 8th grade equivalency as well as several others through their GED's. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style depends on the student. Some students need me to explain the subject material to them rather than read it from the book, while other students benefit most if they work through a problem and then ask me a question when they get stuck. Though regardless of the student, I always ask questions as we go, because I know that students learn best when they engage with the material.
I graduated this spring with honors from Carleton College. For my senior thesis in Math, three of my colleagues and I designed a Challenge Math curriculum for fifth grade students. One method may work for Student A but not Student B, so I aspire to teach methods that will reach both students.
