I enjoy teaching and investing in children. I was credentialed as a Substitute Teacher. When I taught in public schools teachers would request me by name to teach for their classes. I have experience working with elementary ages through high school and even adults. When teaching I try to break complex materials and concepts down into practical illustrations and concepts so the student can see the big picture then fit the concept into that picture. I don't believe in just teaching raw data for kids to memorize, but instead try to illustrate concepts in ways that they can understand to enable them to best understand the material.

While studying for my Masters in Education I realized that in order to be effective as an educator, I must be a lifelong learner. My goal is to pass on this philosophy to all my students. Children and adults find me capable and successful in teaching content. I strive to make my lessons engaging and interesting and pride myself for creating and implementing a safe and friendly learning environment. I worked 4 plus years as a sales manager mentoring and coaching my employees. I've tutored at Bay De Noc Community college and spent a summer teaching at a science camp.

I enjoy working with inquiring minds and solving problems. I teaching style is individualized because everyone learns in their own way. I like to get to know the prson by asking a few questions that can open up the problem as to why they do not understand a certain subject. Once I have a understanding of what the learning problem is, then I can come up with a game plan to how to make them understand how to conquer their problem.
