I am a current graduate student at Lindenwood University, pursuing my Masters of Art in Education with an Emphasis in Character Education. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration in 2003. During the past 10 years I have gained valuable professional experience. I have worked for the public school system as a Technology Assistant, at a prominent Law Firm as a Associate Development Assistant, and most currently at the National Center for Parents as Teachers as a Professional Development Coordinator. During my junior and senior year in college, I TA’ed a finance class called options pricing for two semesters. Options pricing was a difficult subject. I worked very hard to receive an A- for the course, which turned out to be my favor. I had insight to the intellectual hurdles other students had to overcome to master the material. So, teaching them came very naturally. In addition, I abandoned the lecture format for a very interactive teaching format. This allowed the students to ask many questions and allowed me to gage the level of comprehension from in the students real-time. I have a variety of teaching techniques that I use on a daily basis in my classroom. Although, I am not certified in elementary I work well with the younger kids as well. I am easy going and enthusiastic. I am a tenured teacher at a local public high school. I have a BA in Education, MA in Gifted Education, and an MA in Educational Administration. I currently jold a Career Teaching Certificate for Mathematics grades 5-12. I taught 6th grade mathematics for 4 years, and the past two I have been teaching Algebra I courses.
