In addition to completing an undergraduate degree in English Writing Arts in 2007, I have finished my graduate degree in Adolescence Education 7-12: English. This year I served as a tutor for Murray Learning Services, tutoring students in Oswego County in both English Language Arts and mathematics. I am also a substitute teacher for Mexico Academy and Central Schools where I have taught kindergarten through 12th grade, including special education classes. As an Americorps Volunteer, I provided one-on-one tutoring to students who struggled in reading. The grades I have taught are kindergarten to third grade. My training included methods, disability awareness, and the different areas of reading.

I have taught in many areas of study. Since I was young, I taught my younger family members the importance of manners, honesty, care, and responsibility. I believe this has carried into my real-life career as a teacher. I have taught at schools such as Hope Hall in Rochester, NY and Lemoyne Elementary in Syracuse, NY. There I helped my students with their basic subject courses during their class time period. I am currently a sixth grade teacher at a Catholic Elementary School. I have been with the same school for the past 14 years. My experience there has been in the following grade levels: Pre-School, First Grade, Fourth Grade, Sixth Grade, Seventh Grade Math & Science, and Eighth Grade Math & Science. I have also tutored students in grades three through six in both reading and mathematics.
It is very important to me that my students have fun while they are learning. Much of my teaching is done through games and hands-on experiences.
