If the students have questions or if they did not get the right answer I would then go over the problems together with the students and have them practice until they have the strategy down.

My teaching approach is to be direct and explicit, as well as facilitative. When working with students, my goal is that they internalize concepts and strategies that will ultimately enable them to perform independently. Then, when teaching reading and writing, I emphasize underlying structures and organization of text and the steps in the writing process. Breaking down barriers by pulling out language and ideas opens the door to rapport and understanding a student’s strengths and weaknesses.
