I am a native Russian speaker. I graduated from Moscow State Linguistic University in 2002. By now I have more than 8 years experience teaching English both for children and adults and 2 years experience teaching Russian as a foreign language. I have experience teaching private one on one lessons as well as group classes.
I believe that anyone at any age can learn a foreign language. My students are adults, youngsters and even 5-year-old kids. I know the best way to teach language learners of different ages. My approach when teaching children is child centered. The activities I provde are needs driven and geared toward the child experiencing success as he works to increse skills in the target area. I teach the child to use strategies which will help him in the area of organization and learning. When appropriate, I encourage the child to use calming techniques or engage the child in activities to promote alertness, the assist the child in focusing on the activity at hand.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like explain the problem to the students and then let them work on few problems on their own. I would then correct the problems that the students were working on and ask if they need any questions. If the students have questions or if they did not get the right answer I would then go over the problems together with the students and have them practice until they have the strategy down.
I have been working for a local High School for 3 years now as an instructional assistant. Currently I have 3 math classes. I have 2 pre-algebra classes and one geometry. I basically help students mostly 1:6. I have 8 math students that I work with. This summer I also thought math for the students that have failed classes or that were skipping classes and needed to make up the credit. I have BA in English/American Literature.
