I had a great opportunities to help and assist students when i attended high school and college. It gave me a sense of achievement knowing i was helping someone else to achieve thier goals, and bring them to understand things in an easier way. The subjects i tutored were mostly math, science and english. I aso assited a lot of graduate stidents as a lab assitant doing research.I have been tutoring now for at least 9 years. I think educators must take into account the different ways in which students learn. For instance, I've noticed that math students may have difficulty adding and subtracting fractions, but have no trouble whatsoever when I ask about dimes and quarters. If an instructor can build a bridge between new material and material the student has already mastered, the student's retention can significantly improve.
