My comments on tutoring GED : Math portion

I am very patient, but I expect you to work to his or her full ability and to be honest about your weak points. If you can do most of the work on your own and come to me with what you truly have problems with, out time together will be much more productive.
I have a been tutoring math on at least a part-time basis for over 20 years. I have a degree in Psychology and another in Geomatics (Surveying and Mapping - heavy on mathematics) from the University of Florida. ALL STUDENTS WELCOME!

Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed. I do believe that all children have the ability to learn the subjects however not all children are in the right mind to do so. My goal is to show in real world, understandable terms the subjects we will work on. I believe that if a child is explained the rules in terms and words he/she understands, then he/she will grasp the material and carry it with them into the future rather than trying to cram for an exam with no retention.
