A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate student, I had the opportunity to work as a tutor in the Writing Center of Andrews University. I assisted both undergraduate and graduate students and community members with various essays and papers, concentrating on grammatical correctness and content development. I also worked as the Ceramics Director at Camp Au Sable Youth Camp in Grayling, MI, teaching kids, teenagers and adult campers ceramics and managing the ceramics department. I love working with kids and work as a counselor for 6th through 8th grade students at my local church. I have had a variety of teaching experiences since graduating from a small teacher’s college with strict requirements. I have taught geography, physical education, piano, keyboarding, and coached high school sports. Hard work and dedication led to success in my coaching career with a runner-up state title in girls’ basketball. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved to learn new things, and as a teenager wanted to be a teacher. I have a B.S. in Dietetics with a chemistry minor, as well as an M.B.A. My role as a dietitian requires the ability to teach all ages groups, with diverse backgrounds and educational levels. After completion of my MBA, I moved into a senior leadership role. In this position, I facilitated strategic planning sessions and tutored staff who were completing BS or MS degrees in English, sciences, quality, writing, and business classes.
In groups, I like to have many examples and participation from the audience. As a manager and mentor, I also prefer to teach a concept and return to it when the student has an opportunity to use it in their work. It is important to be able to adjust your teaching style to the needs of the student, and I love the challenge of being able to do this.
