A Little Bit About Me...

I work well with children of all ages and am considerably patient, easygoing, although stern as well with my students. My teaching style consists of visual illustrations mixed with a lecture or teaching session. Through my experiences at USD I have determined that the amalgamation of these two styles produce more stimulating teachings as well as information retention being maximized as well. I typically work off of a performance based reward system since it appears to me that children are motivated by praise and reward in order to push them to do better on each successive obstacle they encounter in the classroom

I am a proud graduate of Iowa State University in Child, Adult, and Family Services with an emphasis on child development. With my education I have had experience researching child development in a hands on manner through the Iowa State's Child Development Lab, which ranges of children from birth to six years old. In the classroom, I have development an extensive understanding of the way children develop both mentally and physically, as well as effective ways to discipline children in a dignified manner. I enjoy children and trying to teach them new and exciting things. At times, I understand that it requires patience to work with children, but if you are able to do that then chances of success are much more likely. I believe that everything we teach to these children will be needed sooner or later in life, and that the understanding of this knowledge will further improve their lives.
