A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelors in English from Dominican University. I began A Plus Master Tutoring Center over 4 years ago and was teaching in my home. Now we have expanded to a center in Oak Park and we tutor all ages, from Pre-K to adults. Our subjects range from phonics to algebra. Our teaching styles vary from a 3:1 ratio, which would include up to three students and one tutor, or a 1:1 ratio which would be a private session with a student and a tutor. Session prices range from $25-$27 depending on the type of session. We pride ourselves in being an affordable tutoring center compared with the prices of Huntington and Sylvan learning centers. Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects! I received a BA in English from The College of New Jersey, and my studies were primarily focused on studying the literature of various cultures and time periods. Afterwards, I worked for several years as a freelance contributor to a number of newspapers (especially Pioneer Press, a network of Chicago-area community papers) and magazines (especially Hybrid Magazine, an online music publication).

For four years I have worked as a Reading Specialist Assistant. I helped Kindergarten through fourth grade students learn to read. K-1st, I helped these students achieve the basic foundation of letter sounds to create new words.
