A Little Bit About Me...

I was an Adult Education Instructor for Jefferson County Public Schools for two years. I provided adults and families with quality educational services needed to upgrade skills or obtain a GED. Some of my job duties included recruiting, testing, and retaining adult learners. I have also developed lesson plans and facilitated learning through the use of technology. I have earned my B.S.B.A in Accounting as well as a M.A. in Management and Leadership. My strongest areas of study are in math and writing.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate from both Bellarmine and Sullivan University, I was very head strong about my education. Earning two degrees was very difficult for me due to my learning disabilities. I have Dyslexia, ADHD, and a deficit in Reading Comprehension. I have overcome everything that came my way in my educational path. I have mentored and taught 5th grade children in the bible at Southeast Christian Church for going on two years now and thoroughly enjoy teaching them.
I have always felt the joys working with children. I feel that everyone with learning disabilities can succeed; they just need motivation and perseverance. I believe anyone can learn any subject as long as they have the right tools to succeed. The right teacher can make a hard subject seem easy. My main goal in teaching is to make students feel they have the ability to be successful in the courses they are taking. I do the above by being very positive, patient, and encouraging. I have a wide variety of professional experience in addition to my educational background. I have nearly a quarter century of experience as an auditor, accountant, financial analyst, HR administrator, etc. My career has been spent at large corparations, small businesses, government agencies and as a free lance independent contractor.
I think the best way to teach is to try to find examples that my students will relate to when it comes to instruction. Students can have very different life experiences, which can help, or hinder, their ability to learn certain subjects. My role is to help those students that have difficulty with understanding certain subjects to work with them to come to an understanding of the material, and learn from it.
