A Little Bit About Me...

I worked in Ukraine in a private secondary school for five years as a teacher of Russian Language and Literature. When I came to USA I was excited to start my new career path. Although I find myself challenged, acquiring new knowledge is very interesting for me. I have earned a Bachelor degree with majors in Mathematics and Computer Science. While in school, I helped my fellow students with their studies of Calculus and Introductory Chemistry.
I enjoyed working on Calculus problems with students determined to succeed. I believe that tutoring is two-way process: I help my friends better understand Math; they teach me how to be a better teacher.

The best types of teachers are the ones who make a subject, as Einstein might say " as simple as possible, but not simpler." They are the kind of teachers that can motivate a student to want to improve themselves. I think I am that kind of tutor. I am the kind of person who likes to take a step by step approach to solving mathematical problems with students. If a student is stuck on a concept, I like to ask them questions that allow the student to think. Thereby I simply don't give the answer. I am patient, considerate and hard working.
