I enjoy earnest and humble students, learning with and from them. I feel uncomfortable not learning laterally as well as vertically, seeing that to be knowledgeable, one must not just memorize but ruminate on what was memorized, making as many lateral connections as expedient. I like to simply direct and expand a student's learning as opposed to an artifactual accomplishment; however, my premiere obligation is punctual achievement of task.
I am qualified to tutor writing, basic computer, reading, basic math, learning, biology, organic chemistry, genetics, geography, and various exams, all from college-level experiences. I had a scientific book in Barnes and Noble, ample graduate-level coursework in Education, experience as a High School teacher, and lived abroad. I have a B.S. in plant biotech from Cornell.

I have always been interested in the educational field. I have extensive knowledge in the areas of psychology, writing, and the sciences (particularly biology, anatomy and phsyiology). I have taught several introductory psychology classes at a local community college. In addition, as a graduate student at Alfred University I monitored a study hall of football players and provided the students with tutoring in pscyhology and writing/composition. I also discussed with students their time management, organizational, and study skills. While at Daemen College, I was a tutor in the areas of psychology and history. I graduated with a degree in elementary education. I have since taught preschool and substitute taught for several years. I also worked at a theraputic staff support worker for behavorial children. I have a rich understanding of children on all ages and a intense background in all teaching areas.
I beleive children learn hands on and it is an apporach to find what technique works for each child. I am patient, easy-going, get along well with others and with my educational background be a great candidate for this position.

After receiving a degree in Sociology from a New York State University, I went on to earn a provisional teaching certificate in Biology. I have twenty-one graduate hours in Reading and eleven graduate hours in Early Childhood Education. My previous work experience had me working with families where one adult was in need of a GED. I have tutored students from elementary through high school in every subject (except Foreign Languages) for over ten years. I have also worked with entering BOCES LPN students on math review and raised many of their entry level grades twenty points.
