I have tutored friend's children over the course of several years. I have taught religious studies for over 15 years to youth ages 14. I have worked extensively with children in my various lines of work in the mental health field and foster care. I love teaching and working with children and appreciate that no two children are the same nor do they learn the same way. I'm a strong believer that it's important to teach a child in a manner he/she is comfortable with, whether they pick up a concept quickly or need time. I hold a degree in Organization & Corporate Communication with a minor in English, Rhetoric/Writing Studies and 14 years experience in public relations throughout my various jobs. Grammar, writing, composition writing, essays, grant writing, are all skills that I excel in. More importantly than any of that is that I enjoy writing and and enjoy reading books on grammar.

I worked as substitute teacher for the Denver Public Schools during my senior year of university. I have also worked and certified as instructor in the US Army in several fields to include math and science. I enjoy teaching kids and particular the satisfaction that the kid gets when they finally understand the subject. I believe I must make myself fit to the students needs and not the student to my way of teaching, because there are many ways to have a kid understand the subject. Education is the tool that will open the doors of opportunity and will enhance your individual worth.

I'm currently attending UTEP, I will graduate in Dec. 2010 in Electrical engineering as well as receiving an Associate of Arts degree from EPCC. I worked for a year and 1/2 at EPCC as a Science, Math and Physics tutor, specifically. The classes that I have taken have provided me with knowledge in areas such as Math: Calculus I, II, III, Differential Equations, Matrix Algebra and history of Math. The Physics courses that I took include Physics I (Engineering Physics I), Physics II (Engineering Physics II), Modern Physics and Electromagnetic Field Theory. I finished my associate’s degree in 1 year. The day I graduated I was asked to join the faculty of the community college. I taught there for 3 years and reached the highest academic rank available to me. In addition to the technical skills required of drafters, and renderers, I bring a high level of artistic training, graphics arts experience and design drafting expertise with me and I use all of it for the benefit of my students I have taught widely varying subjects to many kinds of students.
