I attended a small town highschool, but excelled above most of my peers there. I was on the Honor Roll, i can honestly never remember getting any grade lover than a high B, but once. And that was in Spanish, which I do not tutor in, haha. I believe my strong point would be English. Not only am I good at it, I ENJOY it. I am also very distinguised with computer programs, mostly Microsoft programs.

I graduated from WKU with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and during this time I worked at an elementary school during their after school program helping tutor and supervise the children. After I graduated, I substituted for several school districts in mostly elementary grades, but I also worked in middle & high school. I am currently working half-time as a reading intervention teacher. My strongest subject is math and english.
I believe it is very important for children to learn to enjoy the process of learning. Every child learns and relates to new information differently, so teachers must use appropriate teaching strategies to ensure the success of their students. I earned a well rounded education from Western Kentucky University with a strong emphasis in math / Engineering. Since College I have pursued the Surveying field. I have recently obtained the status of Professional Land Surveyor with the State of Kentucky. I have taught young graduates surveying practices in relation to the Engineering field while in management positions. I would be very excited about teaching children.
I like to ask questions and get the student involved. I like to get the student engaged as much as possible. I would like to observe the method in which the student obtains the most information and expound on that variable, triggering many senses for better memorization. My teaching style would consist of trying to get the student to understand what they are studying which is considerably better than just simple short term memorization.

A Little Bit About Me...

My experience as a teacher and instructor has been centered around my experience as a musician. Learning how to play and read music drastically helped me in school in all of my other subject areas. I knew early on that I would continue to play music and also that I would want to stay involved with music in some way.
