I prefer to teach in a classroom environment with a structure and learning standards. I can also teach in a one on one tutoring session. After graduating with a dual degree, I taught in Texas for 27 years in the fields of English, Geography, Health/PE, History, and Math. I have presented multiple times on the state level in math. After moving to Pensacola, I have tauht two years in the Florida K-12 sytem, presenting in Tallahassee in an area social studies conference, and three years in the community and junior college system. Recent tutoring includes math up to college Algebra, some physics and chemistry.
I enjoy a Socratic method of questions to teach. Each student has her/his own style of learning and the Socratic allows me to home in on that style and give the student ownership of the larned material. I have ben told I have the parience of job and a "down-to-earth" way of explaination.

Teaching and coaching students to excel is a gift, and I was blessed with that gift.
