I have many ways of teaching. I like to make the experience rewarding, fun and educational. As I continue to work with others I find their strengths and weaknesses and do the best I can to make the experience fun and as stress free as possible. I have been tutoring all subjects K-8 for over 15 years. I am a certified teacher and currently teach 6th grade. I worked at Sylvan Learning Center for over a year before becoming a private tutor. I have been very pleased with the results I have seen with private tutoring. References are available on request.
I think lots of modeling and review of the concepts being taught is essential. I want the student to observe the modeling and then for me to guide them through the learning of the concepts. Students should be fully engaged in order to gain a full understanding.

Through all of my work related experience, teaching has been the one thing that I loved and felt completely comfortable doing. I believe that every child can learn, but that they often need individual attention and a variety of strategies and techniques used in order to find the one that fits. I teach most often in an investigations approach, learning through experience and experimentation. I believe this hands on learning helps to cement information in a person's memory.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed interacting with children of all ages. I currently serve as a paraprofessional (teacher's aide) at an inner - city elementary school. During my three years in this position, it has become extremely apparent that all children....no matter their abilities....are capable of reaching their full potential.
