I graduated from Spring Arbor University with a BA in English-Writing. Throughout my classes, I have honed the skills of writing and communicating effectively, whether it be creatively or analytically, as well as expanded my knowledge of literature by taking classes such as Shakespeare and 20th Century British Literature. I am a very well-read person who has a leaning toward classic authors such as Bronte, Dumas,and Hemingway. I completed a senior honors thesis, which was 70 pages of analyzing the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and continuing my own creative project, a novel in the making. This honors thesis received the Marsha Daigle-Williamson Award in English in May 2011. I have taught math from grades 8 to 12 in a public high school. As a professor, I taught statistics to undergraduates in two private universities (Case Western Reserve University and Dartmouth) for a total of twelve years, and biostatistics at the graduate level at Harvard and Dartmouth for 17 years. I have tutored students privately in math, statistics, and computer science for over 30 years. In addition, I have published two books plus dozens of applied research papers in the medical sciences which rely heavily on the application of statistics.
