Hi! I am a sophomore in high school and I love tutoring kids! I've done some tutoring before in my neighborhood, and at my school. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I have worked for two newspapers, writing human interest stories. I am not an English major. I actually teach Psychology at a community college, but have a lot of experience with creative writing and love working with young people. I have my secondary certification and have taught middle and high school.

I have my BA in social science and a Master's in counseling. I have been in the field of education for twenty years. I have taught in mostly middle and high school and am currently teaching psychology at Mid Michigan Community College. I have worked with youth in many different capacities. I have worked with 4-H, public schools, college, and volunteered in many areas. I am dedicated to and passionate about education and the process of learning. I have good realtionships with my students and they trust that I have their best interests at hand. While I understand that learning is serious, it should also be fun. I value the importance of learning and believe that I convey that to those I teach.

Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! I have a BA in English-Writing from Spring Arbor University where I focused on writing creatively. I have published short stories and poems in creative anthologies from the university, and I just completed a young adult fantasy novel. I prefer a style that empowers the students to take ownership of their work so they will become better thinkers and writers. I prefer discussion-based learning opposed to "lecture-style" teaching where I can interact freely with the student as a peer-tutor. More specifically, I like to use white boards and visual aids in sessions.
I have worked in Cedarville University's Writing Center as a tutor for two years. As a tutor, I conducted one-on-one sessions with college-age students to help them improve their writing and critical thinking skills. Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! Writing is creativity. At the most basic level we're invited to become aware of and be present with our surroundings, dive deeper into life, and embrace the beauty of it all by writing about it. I've taken classes, studied, and regularly practice the art of creative writing.

I absolutely love to write. I've been a professional tutor throughout the entirety of my collegiate marathon--a lengthy 5.5 years--and have worked with a variety of different students on thousands of diverse papers. From poetry to journalism, research to flash-fiction, there isn't anything I don't love to work on. A lot of students ask, 'Where do I begin?' For most of them this is the scariest question--the resistance that keeps them from getting started. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of a Big Ten school, and a current master’s level student, I have had many focuses in school that I can teach in the tutoring setting. I also currently work in education as a tutor and a substitute teacher, sometimes as a child care worker. Subjects: political science, biology, math through pre-calculus, accounting, English, computer technology, and a few more.
