My comments on tutoring Algebra : I scored a 100% on the NY Algebra Regents. I homeschooled my two daughters and they both passed the Algebra ECAalmost at the Pass Plus range. I am currently homeschholing my son in Algebra 1. I love math and love solving for the unknown quantity. I was certified in Elementary Education (K-8th grade) and Special Education (K-12th grade) and taught for 10 years for both regular and special ed. students up to 8th grade.

I learned much when I took the "Teaching Bookkeeping" class in college. I feel more than qualified to tutor a student in high school accounting, lower math, college accounting. Did all in 4 years yet I did not get my BS for 10 years. Classes not offered together at Defiance College and got them finished at Toledo University. My second career choice was education, but I went with accounting instead. I have always found good luck with explaining how to do something by using examples. As I continue further in my career, this comes easier and easier. Problem solving techniques are an important tool to teach as these skills help children methodically figure answers out.
