A Little Bit About Me...

Everyone has different learning styles and a teacher/tutor needs to figure out what learning style the student has in order to help them reach their highest potential. It is important to understand that some learn by hearing while others learn by seeing and doing. I love to help people learn and grow. I am patient and easy going but will help the students understand the concept as well as have fun.
I have a bachelors degree in business administration and an associates degree in health administration. I have had experience teaching preschoolers and help my own children at home. They are currently in 2nd, 4th, and 6th grades. I enjoy learning and had a 3.6 GPA when I finished my bachelors degree. I do very well in writing research papers. My schooling was online so I have a great deal of experience writing papers.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a firm believer that teaching requires the passing of understanding and not just knowledge. Everyone learns in a different way, and as such information must be presented in different ways to get through to differing individuals. If a student can gain understanding in any subject, they will always retain that understanding even if the knowledge has been temporarily misplaced. I am driven to help others achieve understanding in any area that I am trying to teach.
I have excelled in mathematics since early childhood. As such, I pursued a career in engineering and technology. I acquired a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, and did so in 3 years. I have spent a great deal of time over the past 15 years instructing others in mathematics,physics, and the sciences ranging from grade school to college level to fellow colleagues within my various careers.

While practicing law, I taught several community education courses on legal subjects for Idaho Legal Aid. I also was a certified CPR instructor, but that certification has expired. I attended and completed the "Train the Trainors" course from the National District Attorney's Association and was chosen as one of four from 400 students to be a trainor at the next session. As a PSR, I worked one on one with students in the school setting and on an individual setting working on behavioral issues that prohibited learning in a regular setting. I believe that when the basic concepts of math and science are mastered, the complex concepts become simple. These subjects also need to be taught using real life examples so that students can see the importance of learning them. Finally, I believe the worst thing that an instructor can do is to ask student to use and memorize equation that they don't understand. I will always insure that a student will understand the why and not just the how. Anyone can become a master of math and science if they have the desire and are taught effectively.
