In 2007, I began studying Russian Language at the University of Wyoming. As part of my studies, I spent two consecutive semesters living in Russia and taking intensive Russian courses at Saratov State University, one of the top 50 research institutions in the Russian Federation. This time spent in Russia was crucial in attaining my current level of Russian. In Saratov, I typically spent 15-20 hours a week in private lessons with native teachers, specially trained to teach Russian as a foreign language. Lived in Russia for 2 years as a missionary where I learned the Russian language at an advanced level. Then I majored in Russian enhancing my knowledge of the Russian language. I went on a study abroad to Moscow where I had first hand one on one experience with trained professional Russian Second language Native Russian teachers in many different subjects.

Russian is one of my top subjects! I served my mission in Russia and spoke Russian for six months without English. The experience gained is way better than an associates degree in Russian. I know the book Modern Russian and have read it multiple times.

During my time serving as a missionary in Russia I knew the language so well that I could speak all day everyday in Russian for months. I have enrolled at the University of Utah studying biomedical engineering. I am in Calc two right now and if you know about calculus then you know that I am well equipped to teach any math below calculus.

Russian is Awesome!!

I lived in Russia for 2 years from 2004 to 2006. I talked with native Russian people all day every day, and studied grammar daily on my own. I returned to Russia in 2008 to teach English for a month in Russian elementary schools and took Russian language courses at Liden and Denz institute in St. Petersburg. In 2009 I started working on my Russian degree and am almost finished.

Some pupils are very hardworking.They always do what they are asked to do.Some would bring dictionaries to school.So ,whenever , there are new vocabulary, they would refer to their dictionaries but the funniest thing is that these pupils do not know how to choose the best meanings to the words they found. They don't know whether it is a noun,adjective or verb.And some of them would take any meanings as long as there is a meaning to it. In 2013 I went on a 2 year LDS mission to what was then the Russia, Vladivostok mission. For those two years I lived in Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude, Russia which is in Southern Siberia and then lived in Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, and Ussuryisk, Russia which are cities on the Eastern coast of Russia. I lived for a total of 6 months with native Russians and only spoke Russian for those 6 months which really helped me to master the language. When I got home in 2015, I took high level Russian classes at Utah State University and received a minor in Russian. I still keep in touch with friends in Russia and talk to them frequently so I don't forget.
I like to make learning fun. Russian is a hard language to learn and can be very challenging. At times, it can be discouraging and so if it is fun, it will take much of that stress off of the learning and help what you learn to stick in your head. As ... read more

Expert Tutor in Russian Language and Literature

I lived in Russia for two years where I was surrounded by native speakers and acquired a native level accent in speaking. Following my two year time in Russian I got a bachelors degree in Russian Language and Literature. Since completing my degree my wife and I speak Russian at home with our children, who are bilingual.
I am effective in two teaching styles. The first is by speaking Russian 100% as a way to teach it. The second is by teaching grammar, vocabulary, etc. in a text book style format.
