I am a former Special Education teacher from Bibb County. I taught in a interrelated classroom in both the elementary school level, and the middle school level. I taught reading, math, science, and social studies. I was a cooperative teacher, in which I worked with the general education teacher to assist her in helping our students with special needs. In the interrelated classroom, I worked with students who were not able to be mainstreamed in the general education classroom all day. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Mercer University, I have had the opportunity to work with students in many different grades while completing my many student teaching experiences. After graduating, I began working on my Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Mathematics with Walden University. I am only two classes short of completing my degree and will have it finished up in a little over four months. When I worked in Korea as an English teacher I tried to teach my students on as much of an individual basis as possible given the classroom settings I was working in. I would try to guide the students toward the correct answers whenever possible so as to let them discover the information on their own rather that have it told to them. This gives the students a feeling of accomplishment which helps them to maintain an interest in the subject and learn more naturally. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at Colgate University. Later, I attended Penn State University where I studied elementary education and earned my teacher’s certification after taking classes, interning, and student teaching.
