I believe in mentoring. It does take a few times for the student (young and old) to understand that I cannot teach them anything. I can present information to them and attempt to inspire them to learn, but they are the ones who ultimately teach themselves. I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning.
