I believe in teaching through doing. When I taught German I conducted my class almost completely in German (the beginner level), and while this would seem difficult for the students to learn my students scored excellently on their tests. With enough support that they are capable of doing it and flexibility on the side of the teacher, a student can achieve whatever their goals may be, without having the bored of memorization.

In my ten years of experience as a teacher I have accomplished many things of which I am proud. My second year of teaching I was asked to implement a reading intervention program district-wide. After two years of that, I started a school within a school for at-risk students. The last two years of my career I helped to pilot and then implement single gender classrooms school-wide. A Little Bit About Me...

I tutor based on the individual's learning needs. I have encountered some that were visual learners ad everything had to be drawn/written out. I have also tutored students that can have me explain it and they grasp it easily. My teaching style changes according to the needs of the student because not every one learns the same. I do believe Accounting is a complex field and the student has to have an interest in the field to truly be successful in retaining what they are taught.
While earning my Masters in Accounting, I voluntarily tutored Undergrad students that were earning their Associates or Bachelors in Accounting. The students were enrolled in the local community college (Central Carolina Tech) as well as the University of South Carolina. A Little Bit About Me...

While attending Claflin University in the pursuit of obtaining duel BA's in the field of journalism and sociology, my off times was spent in the middle schools of Orangeburg, SC for nearly six years. I spent 4-5 hours in the classroom (daily) as an assistant and tutor/mentor in language arts classes grades 6-8.
