A Little Bit About Me...

Having earned my college degrees as an adult, I am particularly interested in assisting adults in achieving their educational goals. I taught GED Preparation courses for seven years at the local Adult Education Program and assisted approximately 30 students in obtaining their GED. English and math were the main subject matter for these tests and study/test taking skills were reviewed. In my current position as the Executive Director of a local human service organization, I have flexibility in my schedule to meet the needs of a student.
Teaching comes naturally to me in that I love to work with people (i.e. my professional career) and I love to encourage and inspire others to advance their lives through education. A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored students privately in subjects ranging from languages to math since 2001. One student has continued French lessons four hours a week every summer for five years. I completed a one-year French as a foreign language course in Martinique. I have taught several French for Beginners adult classes. I substitute teach at the local schools, and cover all ages and subjects (some of which I am more qualified for than others, and in the event I am less qualified, I let the students teach me what they know).
I have wanted to teach since I was in second grade, and am currently working toward my license in Massachusetts. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked most of my adult life in education or journalism, and I was able to combine my two passions as a journalism professor at the college level for several years. I am currently a visiting lecturer in media studies at Bridgewater State College and a substitute teacher in local schools. I have taught social studies, business and typing in secondary schools. I also have taught in other venues -- as an exercise instructor for youth, adults and disabled individuals, as a word processing instructor, and as an English as a Second Language instructor to new immigrants through Literacy Volunteers of America.
