Elementary Vocabulary is one of my top subjects! I have experience helping students grasp difficult vocabulary terms and will help them be able to use the terms in context.

I have a calm, loving environment in my classroom. I expect the best from my students and they never let me down. I play classical music during their work time and allow them to work in partners, groups, and individually daily. I also hold what I call "workshops" for students who need that extra help with the lesson I just taught. It seems so much nicer than to negatively call the students back to my table that "don't get it!!".
I am beginning my 14th year of teaching. I have taught from 3rd to 6th grade, with a heavy focus on Reading and Language. I also taught Adult Literacy classes and have worked as the Reading Specialist at our school which involved working with teachers on best practice in Reading Instruction. I am a stay at home of a toddler. I am currently getting my associates degree in veterinary technology. I moved to Anniston about a year ago. Before I moved I tutored my brother since kindergarden. He is now in 7th grade. I graduated from Florence High School with an advanced diploma with a B average. I have a passion for science. This also fosters my love for math and English. I can tutor in home or come to you.
I like to work one on one with books. I write out examples and explain different ways to approach a problem to help Foster different learning styles. I think it is important to be able to teach when the school systems move from books to tablets for classrooms.
