Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! My career as a librarian and my experience as a parent provided many opportunities for me to use creative writing skills to write in many areas- including poetry (including embroidering original poetry in wall hangings!)and using artistic techniques to inspire imagination with children in developing their writing skills.

After six years of social work experience as a caseworker for Westchester County Department of Social Services where I worked extensively with families and children with special needs, I returned to college to receive my Master's degree in Library and Information Science. In 1978 I started my librarian career at the New York State Library, as a reference librarian specializing in the humanities, social sciences and legal research. While I am not a teacher by profession, I spent much time in the academic support center at SUNY Cobleskill as a freshman tutoring students in different kinds of math. (ie: algebra,fractions, etc) and occasionally in english and science. I also had to lead several class discussions at grad school at times, teaching the readings or materials for that week.
