I love teaching and working with all children. My passion is to work with children in the natural environment of their homes and in the context of their family lives. I am patient, kind, reliable and consistent. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and in providing a constructivist approach to learning. I have worked with students who were given up on years before, but once the met me, they evolved and became what so many said they never would become, educated.Vgotsky talked about the zone of proximal development and potential. I believe I teach to reach the highest level of potential and often come very close. I am a fantastic Highly Qualified Educator who gives all I have and then finds where to get more when I run out of ideas.
The school of Education in North Carolina prepared me well. I am above all flexible. My license reads K-8 and I have taught Art K-6 for a year, Second Grade for two years in NC. Then in 2001 I taught Title One reading in TN for a year then Fourth grade for three more years.
